Consent cannot be obtained through coercion, guilt-tripping, or manipulation. If someone says 'yes' because they feel they cannot safely say 'no', it is not consent.
Consent is Freely Given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, and Specific. You can only consent to what you know. Lying about your STI status, secretly removing a condom ('stealthing'), or lying about using birth control instantly voids all consent, as the partner did not agree to those risks.
Relying on the absence of a 'no' is dangerous. Look for a clear, enthusiastic 'yes'. Passive silence, freezing up, or 'going along with it' out of fear is NOT enthusiastic consent.
